    A Cambridge man is facing charges after police allege he assaulted an officer at the scene of a crash. Waterloo Regional Police received a report of a white sedan striking a guardrail on Fountain Street at about 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Police allege that when an officer arrived at the scene around 5:45 p.m. and asked the driver to identify himself, the suspect refused. It was at this point, police allege, the man tried to punch the officer. An off-duty officer witnessed the event and stopped to help.

    An 18-year-old man faces multiple charges, including four counts of break-and-enter and three counts of assault, after allegedly attempting to break into four Kitchener homes and assaulting residents on Monday evening. Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of a disturbance on Wren Place at approximately 8:55 p.m. Investigations revealed that around 8:50 p.m., a male had attempted to enter four different residences in the area.

    Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Robbery Team is investigating an armed commercial robbery that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Waterloo. At about 4 p.m., police responded to reports of a robbery at a business in the area of Hemlock Street and University Avenue West. According to reports, four masked males gained entry to the business by damaging the front entrance. Once inside, the suspects brandished weapons and stole merchandise before fleeing the scene.

    Waterloo Regional Police dispersed a large, unsanctioned car rally in Cambridge, laying numerous charges after receiving multiple complaints about dangerous driving and excessive noise. Around 9 p.m. on May 30, police were alerted to approximately 200 vehicles gathered near Sheldon Drive and Conestoga Boulevard. Local businesses reported vehicles speeding, blocking driveways and creating significant noise disturbances.
