Oxford High graduate Roc Taylor has signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Taylor, who was part of Oxford's 2019 state championship team, is coming off a stellar career at Memphis, where he played wide receiver for four years. He caught 163 passes for 2,375 yards and helped win three bowl games. His catches and receiving yards both rank fifth in school history.

She caught the first two innings on the Gamecocks’ 7-5 win over Florida International but hurt her hand, which forced her to the bench. Sylacauga is headed back to the state finals. The Aggies survived a wild finish to beat Wenonah 69-68 in the Class 5A boys basketball semifinals Wednesday night. Down by a point with six seconds to go, C.J. Franklin made two free throws to put Sylacauga ahead for good. Wenonah’s desperation heave at the buzzer missed, setting off a Sylacauga celebration. The Aggies (30-3) will play in Saturday’s championship game at 10:45 p.m. against Vigor (19-9), which beat Guntersville 71-53.
