Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe reports: The 5.6-acre Adventure Family Fun Center on Route 9 south of The Great Escape sold on February 4 for a total of $1.38 million — $1.15 million for the real estate and the rest for equipment, Realize Brokers principal Nicholas Ketter tells The Chronicle. He said seller Justin Ermiger’s father, the late Ken Ermiger, founded the amusement park in 1997.

Chronicle Staff Writer Ben Westcott reports: Major water damage from a broken sprinkler pipe on Saturday, Jan. 25, caused Countryside Veterinary Medical Group in Kingsbury to close for 10 days. As of Monday, crews from Quick Response Restoration had been on the scene for over two weeks, Countryside owner Dr. James Keller told The Chronicle. He estimated it will take four to six weeks of construction to “rebuild” the hospital. Countryside has managed to soldier on.

Chronicle editor Mark Frost writes: Downstate videographer Ian McGrew had never even heard of Hickory Ski Center (formerly Hickory Hill) in Warrensburg until he saw a Faceboook post about the effort to reopen it for skiing and as a year-round recreation hub. Ian volunteered to make a video. He said he was thinking 3-to-5 minutes, a little promotional item they could use however they pleased.

Glens Falls senior two-sport standout Kellen Driscoll, a 6’3” guard on the defending state champion basketball team and wide receiver on the football team, has committed to play basketball at Division III Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. “I chose to play at RPI because of the high level of education, and the high level of basketball that they play,” Driscoll told The Chronicle.
