Underused or vacant public spaces can often go to waste, but for a Forrestfield shopping centre car park that won't be the case for long. City of Kalamunda mayor, Margaret Thomas, told Mark Gibson on ABC Radio Perth that a plan to make a car park at the Edinburgh Shopping Centre more welcoming was underway. Ms Thomas said the aim was to connect the shopping centre with a playground on the other side of the car park.

Guide dogs have an all-access pass in Western Australia meaning they can go anywhere the general public is allowed to go. Yet guide dog owners often report facing discrimination. According to a 2024 survey commissioned by Guide Dogs Australia, almost 50 per cent of handlers had been refused a rideshare or taxi trip with their dog in the previous 24 months.

Nineteen music organisations have come together to launch 'Vote Music 2025', a national campaign asking political parties to prioritise the future of the Australian music industry in the upcoming Federal Election. Two more cases of measles have been confirmed by WA's Department of Health, bringing the total number of cases in the current outbreak to "well over 40", says Dr Paul Armstrong, WA Director of Communicable Disease Control. 12 more exposure sites and dates have been named in Perth and the South West, including Bunbury Regional Hospital and the Carousel shopping centre in Cannington. The department has a full list of exposure sites on its website.

Revellers and Northbridge locals may have noticed a feature of the James and Lake Street roundabout has gone missing. The sculpture called Arch was installed to mark the opening of the Northbridge Piazza precinct in 2009, and was commissioned by the City of Perth at a cost of $99,000. But in late 2023, the public art piece was removed for repairs by the City of Perth and has not been reinstalled.
