    Two members of Shane van Gisbergen’s No.88 Trackhouse Racing team have been penalized in response to the New Zealander’s right-rear wheel coming off during last weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville. Jack man Aslan Pugh and tire changer JonPatrik Kealy will both be sidelined for the next two races for violation of Sections 8.8.10.4.A & C of the NASCAR rulebook, which covers loss or separation of an improperly installed tire/wheel from the vehicle during the event.

    NASCAR has issued an L2-level penalty to Joe Gibbs Racing’s No.19 entry after the car failed a post-race technical inspection following Sunday’s Daytona 500. The car was found to be in breach of Sections 14.1C&D&S: Overall Assembled Vehicle; Rules 14.5.8.A, which relates to the spoiler. NASCAR’s penalty report indicates that the car was in breach of the ban on modifications to single-source supplied parts.
