MONTANA - A significant heat wave is on the horizon, with temperatures set to rise about 20 degrees above normal early this week. Some areas in Montana may see temperatures reaching the nineties, a notable increase from the usual seventies for this time of year. High pressure over the Great Basin is driving this warming trend, bringing hot west-southwest flow initially to the western parts of the state. This heat will gradually spread eastward, affecting a larger area.
