One of Harry Benson’s best-known photographs depicts a punch: During the Beatles’ first visit to the United States in 1964, the boxer then known as Cassius Clay feigns to slug George Harrison, and all four lined-up mop tops pretend to feel the impact. Two much more intimate Benson pictures, however, document kisses. The photographer hopped over a nightclub bar to get the best angle on a couple’s intense embrace in Berlin, seven years after the wall fell.
