    Lions roar to Cadette Division III titleThe LCC Lions had too potent an attack against the St. Thomas Knights in the Girls’ GMAA Cadette Division III flag football final at Pointe Claire’s Terra Cotta Park. LCC claimed the championship medals and banner with a 27-7 decision over the Knights. The Lions pulled away in the second half to break-open a close game with the score 13-7 after the Knights got on the board with a third quarter score.

    The Loyola Warriors scored a late-game touchdown to claim an 18-14 win over the St. Thomas Knights in the GMAA Bantam Girls’ Division III flag football title tilt at Pointe Claire’s Terra Cotta Park. It was a great struggle between two equally matched squads with Loyola getting some payback for an overtime loss to the Knights in their regular season meeting. “St. Thomas is a very good opponent,” Loyola coach Randy Burns said.

    The Laval Rocket played a dominating game five to take a 5-0 decision at Place Bell in front of 10,092 fans. That delivered a 3-2 win of the North Division final for the Rocket, sending the Rochester Americans into off-season mode. It was a difference like day and night between games four and five for Laval as they rebounded from a 5-3 loss at Place Bell Friday night allowing the Amerks to tie the best of five series at two games apiece.

    The Dollard Amateur Baseball Association (DABA) launched the 2025 season in style with the annual Dollard Baseball Day held last Sunday at Lake Road Park. The organizers covered all the bases for a great day of celebrating the summer sport, including a rain delay on Saturday, the original day, to Sunday. The baseball gods came through as it was a sunny Sunday for the players from 9U to 15U got to showcase their skills for family and friends as well as enjoy in the off-diamond activities.
