It is amazing how some people will do anything to get in or stay in public office for all the benefits they get out of it. It is sad when people run for office as a Republican and a Democrat in a primary election for offices that allow cross-filing. Each party stands for completely different ideas on spending, the border, etc. These people can’t lose either way, and they know it. The voters need to have this changed so elections are fair.

The Blue Mountain School District is reviewing some new textbooks for the 2025-26 school year, and officials said anyone is welcome to review them. At the March 13 Committee of the Whole meeting, it was mentioned that the middle school science textbook needs to be updated. The potential new textbook would be an e-book at a cost of $50, or $120 for three years, and after three years would continue to be available. The Spanish department would like its old textbooks updated as well.
