The Monsters’ season came to an end May 6 at Laval in a 4-1 loss in Game 4 of their second-round American Hockey League playoff series. Cleveland lost the best-of-five series, 3-1. The Monsters needed to win three straight games at Laval to take the series after they dropped the first two at Rocket Arena. After winning Game 3 on May 4, Cleveland kept its hopes alive, but the play of Laval early on in Game 4 was too much to overcome.
