    We definitely have the hottest stretch of weather we’ve had in several years here in Michigan. This won’t be true for the entire state, but certainly for the southern half of Lower Michigan. The upper-air pattern is going to take on the classic hot dome of air formation. Watch as the hot dome forms as we go through Saturday into Sunday. The hot dome won’t break down until around next Thursday. The big pinkish-red circle is the center of the hot dome.

    A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect across south-central and southeast Lower Michigan until 10 p.m. A line of severe thunderstorms in Indiana has evolved into a bow echo. This bow echo signifies a possible brief damaging wind gust as the line of storms moves through any location. The severe thunderstorm watch doesn’t officially cover the city of Grand Rapids. The severe thunderstorm watch stretches from Kalamazoo to Jackson and Lansing to Flint, Ann Arbor and the Detroit area.
