WEST HAVEN - Body parts found in 14 plastic bags in the home of a person police say was found dead last month belong to a 70-year-old woman, according to a DNA analysis and the arrest warrant for her son, who is charged with attempted arson of the home. Theodore Lloyd, 27, is being held on $1 million bond. He has not been charged in connection with the death of his mother, Tina Hart.

NEW HAVEN -There are likely to be far more people calling for a boycott of Avelo Airlines as long as it flies ICE deportation charters Thursday when members of the New Haven Immigrants Coalition rally outside Tweed New Haven Regional Airport. But on Wednesday, many were were able to make their case directly to the people who run Tweed: the Tweed New Haven Airport Authority and staff members of Avports LLC, the company that runs the airport for the authority.

NEW HAVEN - Tweed New Haven Regional Airport's governing body got a good look Tuesday at the latest version of plans for the proposed new 81,568-square-foot terminal the airport wants to build on the East Haven side of Tweed, but it took place in a closed-door meeting. The public will have to wait a little bit longer to check the plans out, an authority officer said.

NEW HAVEN - The Knights of St. Patrick, one of the oldest Irish organizations in America, has elected Bernadette Smyth LaFrance of Guilford to be its first woman president, the organization said. LaFrance is the first woman to lead the Knights since it was founded in 1878 "to foster Irish fellowship, preserve and promote Irish culture in America and support and honor local charitable and public safety organizations," the Knights of St. Patrick said in a release.
