NEW HAVEN - After losing much of its federal funding e arly in the Trump Administration, Integrated Refugee & Immigrant services, or IRIS, was at the top of the leaderboard Thursday for the Community Fund for Greater New Haven's 36-hour annual The Great Give online fundraising drive. The 16th Annual Great Give drive began at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Donations are accepted until 8 p.m. Thursday at www.thegreatgive.org.

NEW HAVEN - The 2025 Westville ArtWalk will unfold throughout Westville Village and part of Edgewood Park over six days this week starting Monday evening. The annual event features musical performances, acrobats, open studios, interactive workshops, plenty of food and food trucks, a rubber duck race, family activities, more than 50 vendors - and, of course, an array of art and art displays.

NEW HAVEN - Police Chief Karl Jacobson identified the woman found dead in Evergreen Cemetery Friday night as 35-year-old city resident Naysha Mendez, who lived near the site. Police said Mendez's death was not connected to a serial killer, and she was wounded several times, leading them to believe she was murdered, Jacobson said during a news conference Monday.

NEW HAVEN - To call 10-year-old singer/songwriter Remy Adair the sentimental favorite in Toad's Place' s first-ever Battle of the Bands finals this week might be a bit of an understatement. While all six acts had their supporters, Remy was the only one who had a dozen or so wildly-cheering middle school kids standing up front at Toad's to urge her on.
