Publisher’s note: I've recently made the decision to limit recordings of live events and access to older written content to paid subscribers. To make upgrading to a paid subscription more attractive to those of you who would like to support this newsletter, I’ve lowered the price by 40%, from $50 annually to $30, and from $5 monthly to just $3. Those prices will hold for as long as you’re a paid subscriber.

In late 2023, I received a LinkedIn message from someone named Carlos Watson. He wanted to talk. Watson said he’d read the piece I’d written about my near-miss with the Justice Department in the nineties. Although it didn’t get much traction on Substack, my 2023 tale of how a pair of money launderers infiltrated my business went viral on Medium. So much so, the company’s staff picked it as one of their favorite stories of that year.

This morning, a follower posed a few questions about a clip from Bloomberg Television featuring Guggenheim Securities Co-CEO Jim Millstein I posted yesterday on the Substack app. I thought some of you might be interested in my somewhat lengthy response.
