Juneteenth events took place throughout Nashville on Thursday. Many went to the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) for live performances, a Metro Human Relations Commission documentary, and interactive exhibits. Thousands more gathered in the evening at Fort Negley for the annual Juneteenth615 Celebration. More live music and line dancing accompanied by local food trucks that kept the large crowds celebrating until the fireworks burst above the historic site that night.

Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball tipped off a four-week run at Municipal Auditorium on Feb. 5. The women’s basketball league includes 40 players with college, WNBA and/or international experience. Teams consist of 10 players each and are re-drafted every week by a new set of captains, who also coach their respective squad through a three-game, round-robin format. Players are awarded points if their teams wins a quarter or a game.
