Cancellation of votesDr Afari-Gyan encouraged the electorate not to entertain any calls for the cancellation of votes in an election decision. Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) has commenced the process of adding a second gas processing plant to increase the national processing capacity to 450 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd). The plant, to be known as Train Two, of the Gas Processing Plant (GPP), will be constructed at a cost of $700 million and comes with a nominal capacity of 150mmscfd, expandable to 300mmscfd.

The nation must intensify efforts to improve on food safety because of the activities of food vendors who are steadily springing up in the country without proper surveillance of their activities. The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) must, therefore, scale up its surveillance efforts and take steps to clear food vendors without permits off the streets as their operations are a source of danger to people's health and lives.

Five people have reportedly died after eating a meal of rice and beans, popularly known as waakye, they bought from a food joint at Oyibi Bush Canteen Junction, in Accra. About 40 people were reportedly affected, out of which five, including a pregnant woman and a lotto vendor, died.
