Since I’m a native of Los Angeles, certain outskirts of the city bring me right back to my youth. Claremont is one of those places. Nestled in the Pomona Valley 30 miles inland from Downtown LA, Claremont combines a quaint old-world charm with appetizing restaurants and diverse things to do. The laid-back vibes of the college town make it an exemplary destination when you just want to slow down and not deal with the city noise. Claremont is easily accessible via car, train, or plane.

From world-renowned chefs to a boozy trolley tour, there are plenty of reasons Philly is making Best in Travel lists for 2024.

I always love visiting the South. I was excited to check off another city when I headed to Greenville, South Carolina. Greenville is continuing to make several “Best Of” and “Must See” lists and rightly so. No matter who is exploring, Greenville will have something to keep everyone happy. It’s also an ideal area for road trips and checking out multiple towns nearby like Asheville. I kept thinking how fun it would be to rent a car and take my girl on an adventure through the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I love visiting botanical gardens. These places artfully present selected plant species for display and bring me tranquility and peace. As a Southern California native, I have many in my backyard. I love each for different reasons. These are my top five botanical gardens in Southern California. Each of these is a lovely treat for locals or visitors. All are within three hours of downtown Los Angeles. Ganna Walska Lotusland, Santa BarbaraLotusland was founded by eccentric opera singer Ganna Walska.
