1 BACKGROUND Self-harm was defined as any behavior which the individual used to harm oneself, irrespective of motive (National Institute for Health and Excellence, 2022). It is a growing public health concern, especially in adolescents and young people (Lockwood et al., 2018). Lifetime prevalence rates in England have increased from 2.4% to 6.4% in a decade (Borschmann & Kinner, 2019).
