A water pipe that burst overnight and flooded Duke University Hospital continues to cause problems for staff and patients Friday morning. Hospital officials said a chilled water pipe inside a wall burst at 11:40 p.m. Thursday, flooding the Emergency Department. The hospital, on Erwin Road, is temporarily diverting ambulances to nearby hospitals, according to a statement from hospital officials at 10:20 a.m. Dec. 27.
