BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Diocese of Buffalo is hosting the daughter of an Italian Roman Catholic Saint. Gianna Emanuela Molla, MD is the youngest daughter of Saint Gianna Beretta Molla. She is visiting Western New York from July 11 through July 14 and taking part in several special events, culminating with a luncheon and Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral in Buffalo in her honor on Sunday. Saint Gianna Beretta Molla was also a physician and a pediatrician.

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Anna Wasson worked to save lives. Sadly, she lost her own to lung cancer. Our hearts go out tonight to her family and friends. She passed away on May 16, 2024, at Buffalo General Medical Center. Three years ago I shared her story, shortly after she was diagnosed with lung cancer at the young age of 40. Anna worked as a nurse at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, and was beloved by her co-workers, who rallied around her and even hosted fundraisers to help her young family.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A man known for his passion for the City of Buffalo and Democratic Party politics is being mourned tonight. Thomas Gleed died over the weekend after a brief illness. Tom had worked at the Erie County Board of Elections for the past 13 years and served on the Executive Committee of the Erie County Democratic Party for many years.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Niagara Falls native Saladin Allah has known his family's connection to the Underground Railroad since he was a young boy. "My family definitely grounded me with a sense of cultural competence. I grew up in a household where education, communication, a sense of pride in our ancestry was something that was foundational," Allah said. He serves as the Director of Community Engagement at the Underground Railroad Heritage Center in Niagara Falls.

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — One of the hot issues on the ballot this year has people in North Tonawanda riled up. Voters are being asked to pass revisions to the city's charter. But the New York State Republican Committee sent flyers to residents accusing the Charter Revision Commission of staging a power grab. The changes proposed by the Commission could potentially alter the Republican party's super-majority in City Hall.
