    LuliePalooza packed a mighty punch this year thanks to Always Live, PBS radio and the Lulie Tavern. A two stage extravaganza in the shadows of the Victoria Park grandstand in the heart of inner city Collingwood, this festival was back to basics and back to fostering local talent. Despite the heatwave, the conditions were more than manageable – plenty of sunscreen, lots of free water and ample seating and shade for those punters wanting a spell.

    Opening the show tonight was Melbourne singer songwriter Lotte Gallagher who at 17 was a finalist in the Triple J unearthed High for 2023. What a great opportunity for her to join St Vincent on this exclusively Victorian run of shows as part of the Always Live initiative. While still a work in progress as she carves her own musical niche, Gallagher’s voice was her weapon. Definitely an artist on the rise and one to watch.

    Kim Wilde made a triumphant return to the Palais in St Kilda on Saturday night to close out the Australian leg of her greatest hits tour. Having last graced the majestic Melbourne stage in 2016 touring with Howard Jones and next door at the old Palace in 2013 with Nik Kershaw, tonight it was once again a Wilde family affair.
