SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - With more moisture coming into mid-Michigan from a large area of low pressure to the south of the Great Lakes, spotty showers are now starting to develop. These spotty showers will be here through Wednesday. On Thursday, while a stray shower is possible too, the better chance of rain then will be in the evening. Right now, we’re tracking the chance of severe storms on Thursday evening. More details below.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - We’re tracking more mild weather today, just a nice continuation of the beautiful weekend weather! Through today, we’re just going to start seeing a little bit of cloud coverage building up. Those clouds are going to eventually lead to spotty shower potential tonight through Thursday night. It’s worth noting though how at any given point midweek, rain chances will stay spotty so as everything stands now, there’s no need to cancel any outdoor plans you might have.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - The big headline in the forecast this morning is the frost and freeze conditions we’re currently experiencing. While it is still a little early in the growing season, there are some plants and a number of trees already starting to bud. There is a Frost Advisory or Freeze Warning in place for all TV5 counties this morning. Fortunately, looking ahead in the foreseeable future, we don’t see any chance of frost or a freeze.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - With cool weather remaining in the forecast, temperatures are expected to get even colder going into tonight/Thursday night. This has prompted a Freeze Watch from the National Weather Service for our two northernmost rows of counties. Specific verbiage of the watch can be found on the Weather Alerts Section of our website. However, the big takeaway for tonight is the cold, below-freezing weather expected which can damage any budding plants and some crops.

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - With Tuesday’s rain and previously stalled system now gone, we have quieter and drier weather on the way for the rest of the workweek. A common theme through the rest of the week though is going to a be a northeast wind flow. This wind won’t be very strong, but occasionally we’ll have gusts near 25 mph today and Thursday. Temperatures will see an impact because of this wind though, all depending on how close to the shoreline you are.
