Unless you have an electric vehicle, you know what President Donald Trump said the other day isn’t true. “You have gasoline hit $1.98 yesterday in a couple of states,” Trump said Thursday after a reporter asked the president how long people could expect to see higher prices amid his trade war. There wasn’t a single state that had an average gas price close to $1.98 per gallon on Wednesday.

Too bad. That’s the message from former GOP Congressman Joe Walsh after Sen. Lisa Murkowski said Republicans are afraid of being retaliated against for standing up to President Donald Trump. “We are all afraid,” Murkowski said, according to The Anchorage Daily News. “It’s quite a statement. But we are in a time and a place where I certainly have not been here before. And I’ll tell ya, I’m oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice, because retaliation is real.

A veteran Democratic strategist took a public swing at the vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee over his plans to mount primary challenges to some House Democrats. “He is a contemptible little twerp, if you ask me,” James Carville said of David Hogg. Carville spoke to Chris Cuomo on his show on NewsNation. “Why doesn’t somebody sue David Hogg? He’s an officer of the Democratic National Committee.

Alaska Republican U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski apparently has some concerns. And she’s not alone. Murkowski reportedly “told a room full of Alaska nonprofit leaders that the tumult of tariffs, executive orders, court battles, and cuts to federal services under the Trump administration are exceptionally concerning,” according to the Anchorage Daily News.

Former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger is getting increasingly alarmed over President Donald Trump. And it may come time to take to the streets, he said. Listen, we are in unbelievably uncharted territory here, and, you know, we’re approaching the point where honestly, it’s like we’re all gonna have to take to the streets or something. I don’t think it’s time to, you know, general strike and everybody be on the streets yet. But I think we need to think in terms of that.
