Brooks and Gurney bash for Pikeville A pair of Canucks provided plenty of offence for the University of Pikeville during their four games. Noah Brooks (Cloverdale, BC) had six hits, three walks, eight RBIs, two stolen bases and was hit by five pitches. He hit a solo home run, finished with three hits and was hit by three pitches in the Bears’ 19-13 Game 2 victory over Truett McConnell. Austin Gurney (Campbell River, BC), meanwhile, produced 11 hits, three walks, eight RBIs and a stolen base.

The no-no was the first for the Wolverines since 1994. It’s the second no-hitter by a Canadian this season, after University of North Carolina at Charlotte right-hander Blake Gillespie (Lucan, Ont.) tossed one back on March 7 against James Madison. But Carey wasn’t done, as he worked five more scoreless innings in a 10-0 win over Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday. He allowed three hits and struck out seven in his second start of the week.

When Hespeler resident Liz McMahon received a shocking cancer diagnosis in November, her dogs Porter and Stout never left her side. It's a type of unconditional love and support McMahon believes everyone should have the opportunity to feel. Lehman University (42-game losing streak) and Yeshiva University (99-game losing streak) faced off in a doubleheader looking to enter the win column. Lehman snapped its skid with a comeback win in extra innings in Game 1. Yeshiva earned the split in Game 2 to snap the 100-game https://t.co/OUcyKTfGWv
