New caps on financial payouts for abuse lawsuits in Maryland go into effect on Sunday. It’s one of many new laws passed by the General Assembly this year that hit the books June 1. In 2023, lawmakers passed the Child Victims Act, which removed the statute of limitations to file a lawsuit for abuse in Maryland. It came in the wake of a report from the state Attorney General’s Office that detailed decades of sexual abuse and misconduct within the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

President Donald Trump late Thursday signed an executive order to end federal funding for NPR and PBS “to the maximum extent allowed by law”, alleging left-wing bias in reporting from both public media organizations. The order also targets local public media stations that receive federal funds — such as WYPR and WTMD, which fall under parent company Baltimore Public Media.

And just like that...96% of #Baltimore city precincts now reporting #MDPolitics Question F (Harborplace) passing 60-40 while Question H (city council shrinking) failing 63-37 #Maryland Safe to say those are the results #Election2024

Only 36% of precincts in #Baltimore city have reported as of 11:11, so the results we've seen so far haven't changed #MDPolitics I think we'd all like to make a wish they start coming in now...

Out in MD-6 the remaining precincts to report are in Montgomery County, where Delaney is leading that race 71 to 29 #MDPolitics #Maryland #MoCo So....long way to go there as Parrott lead is now under 8k #Election2024
