Well, how good was that. The Masters, again, was compelling, stellar, put-down-your-phone-and-suck-it-all-in entertainment for we slobs on the couch and in golf clubs around the land, acolytes who can nowt but marvel at the skills and nerve of these great players.

That rounds out our live coverage for Saturday, thanks for tuning in. Here are the timestamps and commentary from the day's play. 9:00am: DeChambeau makes 4 on 17, keeping him at nine-under. McIlroy routinely collects his par at 18 for back-to-back 66s and finishes at 12-under-par. Conners makes a brilliant up and down for par and completes a solid day, the Canadian signing for 70.

And here we are again, back at Augusta National for this 89th Masters, and I have one hundred percent zero compunction about speaking on behalf of all sports fans - scratch that, all people - in our great southern land, and declaring that Australians all let us rejoice for we'd very much like to do it again. He still has things to say, of course, as befitting a statesman of the game, a needle-mover, a powerful figure. He’ll tell his colleagues with misgivings over the money LIV golfers received to “get over it”. “If people are butt-hurt, or have their feelings hurt because guys went or whatever, like, who cares? Let’s move forward together and let’s just try to get this thing going again and do what’s best for the game,” McIlroy said.

While he’s not yet in Greg Norman areas for unrequited love, you’d have to agree, the bastard’s due. Rory McIlroy’s first Masters was in 2009, when the 19-year-old qualified by storming into the OWGR top-50 following nine top-10s on the DP World Tour, including a win in the Dubai Desert Classic and a play-off loss in the European Masters in scenic Switzerland. With six holes to play in the second round at Augusta, McIlroy had flown up the leaderboard and into sixth.
