Larry B. Williams, 42, of Philadelphia, was the purported leader of the ring and faced more than 1,000 felonies in connection with the ring, which was brought down by law enforcement in 2023.

    PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) - The School District of Philadelphia is launching a pilot program designed to deter dangerous driving. Cameras will be mounted on the stop arms of 20 school buses to catch drivers trying to illegally pass them. During a Tuesday press conference at the district garage on Passyunk Avenue, Chief Operating Officer Teresa Fleming said the goal is to make bus stops safer for kids.

    HERSHEY, Pa. (AP/ KYW Newsradio) - The man accused of firebombing Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro's official residence in Harrisburg was motivated by what he claims were the governor's plans for "what he wants to do to the Palestinian people," according to a search warrant released Wednesday. It says 38-year-old Cody Balmer's motive was likely "based upon perceived injustices to the people of Palestine," as well as Shapiro's Jewish faith.

    DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) - The two remaining Crozer hospitals in Delaware County will remain open at least another week to 10 days. But following a hearing in bankruptcy court Thursday, officials said there is still no permanent solution in place. Prospect Medical Holdings, a private equity firm, said Penn Medicine contributed $5 million to keep the doors open at Crozer Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital, and Delaware County advanced Prospect another $1 million.

    HAVERFORD, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) - Lower Merion police are looking for a man they say attempted to rob an 84-year-old man outside a TD Bank on Lancaster Avenue in Haverford on Tuesday. The suspect attempted to grab the victim's keys and some paperwork, leading to a brief struggle. Police say the 84-year-old fell, injuring his hand and his head. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. The suspect fled south on foot toward Haverford College.
