Monday temperatures are starting out chilly after a cool weekend around the Inland Northwest. That won't last long, though. We'll be up a few degrees this afternoon, and more warmth will come midweek.

Another week has begun, and we have another warming trend in the Inland Northwest. We'll jump from the 60s on Monday to 70s on Tuesday. There's only one blip later this week in what otherwise will be lots of sunny, dry weather.

SPOKANE, Wash.-- One of the first outlooks for fire season in the Inland Northwest is in. The National Weather Service in Spokane says we should expect a busier fire season this year than last. The reasoning behind this forecast begins with the last month or so. April was dry across the Northwest. Many communities received less than 50% of the average rainfall they would expect for the month. Much of this projection, however, is about the weather to come.
