HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) - The Hutchinson Police Department arrested a 36-year-old man for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery, domestic violence -- strangulation, domestic battery and criminal restraint in connection with a fight reported Thursday at a Hutchinson apartment complex. Police arrested Albert Hon Jr., of Hutchinson, after the disturbance in which another man was injured.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Police arrested a man connected with two fires in back-to-back days at a First Bank Kansas location in Salina. Forty-three-year-old Matthew Phouthavong faces two counts of arson. The second of two fires reported at the bank in the 1300 block of West Crawford happened late Thursday night. Police said at about 11 p.m., a witness driving by noticed a fire on the side of the building and an SUV leaving the area. The first fire happened at about 8 a.m. Wednesday.

SALINA, Kan. (KWCH) - Salina police arrested a 31-year-old man, accused of sexually assaulting a child. Christopher Terry faces three counts of indecent liberties with a child. At about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, police reported receiving a call from Salina Regional Health Center concerning a child who’d been sexually assaulted. From an investigation, police said that officers determined that Terry inappropriately touched the child, reported to be younger than 10 years old.

CHASE COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) - The Chase County Sheriff’s Office said a bread truck’s driver was cited for disobeying a traffic control device after floodwaters at the intersection of 210 Road and U Road, east of Cottonwood Falls, floated the “Sara Lee” truck off the road. The sheriff’s office said the driver “went around the barrier and through a few hundred feet of water” before floodwaters carried the truck. The driver evacuated the truck and floated with the current to a power pole.
