    Cascade County has reached a settlement in a wrongful death case with the estate of a woman who died in the Cascade County Detention Center. The terms of the settlement include a $200,000 payment to the estate of Aleesha Mae Kempa, who died by suicide in 2022. The county admits no liability as part of the agreement. Kempa was booked into the jail on Aug. 24, 2022, for alleged felony theft.

    Why did you seek out MAN v FAT’s support in the first place? For me, I’d say there was two big factors as to why I decided MAN v FAT was something to give a try, and as to why the support worked or me. Firstly, the fact it was all-male was a big, big thing. Whilst I was probably the youngest member of the Manchester league at the time I signed up, I certainly wasn’t the only male. I think that was huge in terms of having a support network of people who ‘got’ it.

    Why did you seek our MAN v FAT’s support in the first place? I hadn’t really considered looking for any support or even addressing what had started to become a more serious issue. I had just turned 30 and was struggling to recover from reconstructive knee surgery. It was just before Christmas 2016 and my brother called me to talk about a new programme called MAN v FAT Football, so I signed up.

    What was it that attracted you to join MAN v FAT in the first place? I finally decided that I wanted to change and make it a permanent one. I have dieted before but they were often fads – I’d start well and then tail off. Being a part of a team and the accountability from that, as well as the competitive element of making a difference in the score, really appealed to me.
