FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - May was an unusually gloomy month and I - as well as many of you - held out some hope June would buck the trend. So far, however, the gloominess has stuck around. Patterns usually shift in pretty extreme ways around here, so I’m sure there will be a prolonged light at the end of the world’s longest tunnel soon!Tonight will be cloudy with haze and, eventually, some fog into Saturday morning.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - An incredible amount of rain fell across a large chunk of Northeast Indiana last night and into the morning, with a broad area of 2-3″ north and west of Fort Wayne, with half an inch or less for other communities such as Decatur, Berne, and Van Wert!Any rain chances over the next seven days look fairly scattered/spotty in comparison. Friday could start with some patchy dense fog due to all the moisture as of late with cloudy skies expected into the afternoon.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Showers will increase this evening as a cold front slowly works its way south and eastward over the next 12 hours or so. While much of the rainfall looks pretty light, we could see window of enhanced/heavy rainfall between 2 am and 10 am Thursday morning. After 10 am, rain will likely become more more isolated/scattered for the rest of the day. Rain will remain fairly isolated Friday, with a better chance for showers and thunderstorms in the morning.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A stationary front draped across parts of Illinois and Iowa this evening will live up to its namesake, moving slowly eastward over the next 24-48 hours. What this means for us is a warm and dry, but possibly partly to mostly cloudy first half of the day Wednesday.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - It’s finally feeling a little more like late spring! For now, anyway :)Tuesday’s high temperature should easily make it into the mid and upper 80s, though some elevated smoke/haze/dust could prevent us from reaching our first 90º of the season.
