Mayor Sharon Tucker joined local youth and officials from the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the American Beverage Association for a Healthy America at Johnnie Mae Farm for a kickoff event. The event invited the public to learn about the program while touring the farm, sampling its recipes, and attending its first farmstand of the 2025 season.

While the fog will let up throughout the morning, smoke will hold on a bit longer. Air quality alerts are still in place until this evening. Air quality is described as “unhealthy for sensitive groups,” meaning those with respiratory conditions should limit time outdoors. Today will mark one week since this wildfire smoke from Canada originally pushed into our area.
