A man who raped a woman at a party at his workplace has been jailed for six years. Ambrish Dogra, 41, supplied the woman with alcohol before raping her in a locked room. Dogra, of Layer Road in Colchester, was sentenced to six years' imprisonment at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday (April 22). He was convicted of rape on March 6 after a trial in late February and early March. During the trial, the court heard how Dogra had organised a party at his workplace in December 2020, held in a storeroom.

An investigation is underway after a "concerning incident" in which a cat's body was found having sustained serious injuries. The body of a cat was found at the back of a road in Chadwell St Mary on April 17. Essex Police said officers from a local policing team will be completing enquiries around Felicia Way in Chadwell St Mary between 5pm and 6pm on April 17. The cat's body was found at the back of the road with "significant injuries", Essex Police said. An investigation is ongoing.

Drivers are facing long delays on the M25 due to a police incident near Waltham Abbey. The major motorway is closed between junction 25 and junction 26 due to an incident. Congestion is building up clockwise towards junction 24 for Potters Bar. There are long queues on the approach to the incident, which is at the Essex border with Hertfordshire, near to the Holmesdale Tunnel.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died on the Essex border. Emergency services rushed to Ayley Croft in Enfield on Saturday (April 19) after reports of a fatal stabbing. A woman was found with a stab wound when police from Scotland Yard and the London Ambulance Service arrived at the scene. Despite their best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. She has now been named Pamela Munro, 45, from Enfield. Specialist officers are supporting her family.
