A popular bubble tea store is set to open in Chelmsford city centre. Work is ongoing at a unit on New London Road for Mooboo to open just metres from the High Chelmer Shopping Centre. The drinks firm already has a store in the nearby Meadows Shopping Centre. It is closed between May 12 and May 14 for relocation before reopening on May 15.

A man who raped a woman at a party at his workplace has been jailed for six years. Ambrish Dogra, 41, supplied the woman with alcohol before raping her in a locked room. Dogra, of Layer Road in Colchester, was sentenced to six years' imprisonment at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday (April 22). He was convicted of rape on March 6 after a trial in late February and early March. During the trial, the court heard how Dogra had organised a party at his workplace in December 2020, held in a storeroom.
