That contest was run over 1m4f, and the first, sixth and seventh have opted to stay at that trip in the Pinnacle on Merseyside, while Scenic (second), Sueno (fourth) and Allonsy (fifth) line up over two furlongs further in the Bronte Cup at York.

The Jim Boyle-trained eight-year-old has raced 24 times at the Sussex track and has finished in the first three in just under half of those, including a fine haul of five victories. The most recent of those came over this track and trip in October last year.

Redwood Queen claimed defeat from the jaws of victory in the opening claiming hurdle at Wexford when Philip Byrnes was dramatically unseated at the final flight after his mount traded at 1.14 in-running. The eight-year-old, trained by the jockey's father Charles, had opened up at 7-2 before drifting to a starting price of 13-2, but looked set for success when two lengths clear approaching the last hurdle.

Belmont Park will host the Breeders' Cup for the first time in more than 20 years after it was announced as the venue for the prestigious meeting in 2027. The New York track will stage the championships for the fifth time but the first since 2005. It was also the host in 1990, 1995 and 2001, when Tiznow denied Sakhee by a nose in an epic Breeders' Cup Classic. Keeneland was announced as the venue for the 2026 Breeders' Cup.

The Kate McGivern-owned son of Havana Grey was sent off at 9-1 behind odds-on favourite Storm Force but swept his rivals aside with a two-and-a-half-length success that may have set up a tilt at Royal Ascot. Burke's strike-rate with juveniles in 2025 now stands at a red-hot 36 per cent, with 12 of his 33 runners winning.
