Michelin has announced the construction of an initial industrial demonstration unit for production of the 5-HMF molecule – a bio-sourced and non-toxic molecule which can be used to replace ingredients derived from fossil fuels in a wide variety of industrial fields. The demonstrator, which will be located in Roussillon, France, will have an annual production capacity of 3,000 metric tons.

Apollo Tyres has signed new distribution agreements for France and Scandinavia as part of a broader plan to improve the availability and visibility of the Vredestein bicycle tire range across Europe. In France, Apollo has appointed two new partners – Triangle SAS will manage distribution for urban and commuting tires and inner tubes, while Alternativ Sport will focus on the sports segment.

On June 1, 2025, Michelin will launch the X Works Z2 and D2 range construction vehicle tires in size 315/80R22.5. This launch will be followed by the 13R22.5 X Works Z2 and D2 and the 385/65 X Works HL Z2 in September 2025. Designed for short on- and off-road journeys in regional and urban areas, the Michelin X Works Z2 and D2 range is available for both steer and drive axles, and will be marketed throughout Europe.
