Metropolitan State University in St. Paul went on lockdown for about 25 minutes early this afternoon after a report of gunshots near the campus. St. Paul police say the alleged shooter was arrested a short time later and has no connection to the school. Police have not said if anyone was injured. The Minnesota Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned the conviction of a woman who exposed her breasts in a Rochester parking lot in 2021. Olmsted County prosecutors charged Eloisa R. Plancarte with a misdemeanor after Rochester police responded to a complaint about a woman walking around topless near a gas station. After a bench trial the following year, Judge Joseph Chase found Plancarte, 28, guilty of indecent exposure. The Minnesota Court of Appeals upheld Plancarte’s conviction in 2024.

A jury on Wednesday convicted three Minneapolis street gang members of federal racketeering and murder charges. Keyon Pruitt, 22, Dantrell Johnson, 32, and Gregory Hamilton, 29, who are all members of the Highs, are already serving state sentences of more than 30 years. The federal convictions could send them to prison for life. After one of their associates was killed by a member of the rival Lows in 2021, the three fatally shot Darryl Wells at Skyline Market in north Minneapolis, a Lows hangout.

A domestic dispute involving a man with a gun led to an hour-long lockdown Tuesday at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Edina Police Chief Todd Milburn said a man pulled out a gun inside a hospital room but did not fire. The suspect then assaulted a patient and fled. “I can only say that it’s a domestic assault or a domestic dispute involving parties that knew each other and there was some type of physical altercation that took place,” he said.
