Here’s your Sunday evening forecast for June 1, 2025 from Meteorologist Matt Serwe. An Air Quality Alert continues through Monday evening for all of Minnesota. If you looked up today and thought there were clouds in the sky, nope! That was all smoke. Unhealthy air is in western Minnesota Sunday evening, and that will spread into central and northern Minnesota overnight. Here’s your Saturday evening forecast for May 31, 2025 from Meteorologist Matt Serwe. An Air Quality Alert continues for all of Minnesota through Monday evening. Poor air quality is likely Sunday and Monday. Smoke from Canadian fires turned the sky hazy Saturday. Most of the smoke was a mile or two above the ground because the winds were light. On Sunday, winds pick up out of the west, and that means smoke will spread across Minnesota. Poor air quality is likely for most of the state.

I think that is preventing too many clouds from developing across the Twin Cities metro. As we head into the afternoon, a few more will pop up as highs climb into the low and mid 70s. Up north, there is a weak mid-level low that might set off a few sprinkles through the afternoon.

Some of the smoke from the fires in the Arrowhead is drifting south. The air quality is fine, but if you smell smoke or see haze tonight, that is why. Expect another mainly sunny start on Memorial Day, followed by more clouds in the afternoon. However, there might be a few sprinkles in central and northern Minnesota.

One down, two more beautiful days ahead for the holiday weekend! There might be some sprinkles early Saturday evening in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Once the sun goes down, any sprinkles and clouds disappear. Since winds will be light, temperatures will drop quickly. Overnight lows fall into the mid and upper 40s in the Twin Cities.
