CLEVELAND β It's been a relatively cool spring with a few hot days mixed in. But that's all about to change as summer officially arrives with a stretch of soaring heat around Northeast Ohio and much of the eastern U.S. As a result, we have Weather Impact Alerts of the dangerous heat we're expecting for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and potentially Wednesday next week. CLEVELAND β It's that time of year. The warmer weather brings us outside, but it can quickly get ruined by a swarm of biting mosquitoes! CLEVELAND β Heat...check. Humidity...check. Strong cold front...check! All the ingredients are there for a round of severe storms to roll through northern Ohio Thursday night into the early morning hours Friday. As a result, we have issued a Weather Impact Alert beginning late Thursday night through the morning rush hour on Friday. Make sure you stay updated on the forecast as this timing and the threat could shift. This all comes as a strong cold front moves in from the west.

CLEVELAND β It's spring time here in Northeast Ohio and that often goes hand-in-hand with severe weather. We've had a bit of a break, but the threat for strong to severe storms returns on Tuesday as a strong cold front moves through the Great Lakes. As a result, we've issued a Weather Impact Alert for Tuesday with that threat of impactful thunderstorms at some point Tuesday into Tuesday night. After a cooler upcoming weekend, we'll see temps recover going into next week.

We could certainly use the rainfall across northern Ohio as most of us are running anywhere from 1 to 4 inches below average. We don't need it all at once though....and that's the way the atmosphere is structured today--to produce some heavy rainfall for some. Let's break down the details on our Weather Impact Alert Day Today: WHAT AND WHEN: We're expecting the radar to light up pretty quickly later this morning as an area of low pressure and a cold front collide over northeast Ohio.
