SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - A 22-year-old man from Redding, William Brown, has been arrested in connection with the sexual abuse of a child, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff's office said the investigation began in October 2024 after the sheriff's office received information about the alleged abuse. The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation, which led to the identification of Brown as the suspect.

LOS MOLINOS, Calif. - A tragic incident occurred late Wednesday night in Los Molinos when a 17-year-old girl, Olivia Freemyers, was struck and killed by a train just before midnight. Olivia, who graduated from high school in May and planned to attend cosmetology school, lived across the train tracks with her grandparents, Luke and Melinda Freemyers.
