A Monday, June 16 open house has been scheduled at the Church in the Valley at 23589 Old Yale Rd., from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. A long strip of land on either side of Fraser Highway, east from about 224 Street to 240 Street, was never placed in the ALR.

A man wounded in a targeted shooting in Langley last September is now facing a number of gun charges after an investigation by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). Barinder Singh Dhaliwal, a 41-year-old Langley man, has been charged with possession of a loaded firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm while prohibited. He was arrested on June 3.

Langley RCMP officers and local Special Olympians took to the streets of Langley on Wednesday, June 4, for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraiser. Flanked by a couple of squad cars for traffic control, the run started at the local RCMP detachment in Murrayville and wound its way through the community. Special Olympics is an organization that facilitates people with intellectual disabilities taking part in sports at all ages.
