A man accused of firing shots near a northern Kentucky country club, causing a standoff with law enforcement, has been arrested and is being held on a $100 million bond. The call came in around 1:30 p.m. last Thursday for a report of shots fired out of a home near Omaha Trace and Saunders Lane in the Triple Crown neighborhood, which is in Union. Investigators said Mhammed Jibrini, 47, fired shots out of the house at landscapers, sparking the large police presence.

Vice President JD Vance was in Los Angeles on Friday, visiting California’s biggest city in the wake of clashes between protestors and law enforcement officials. The protests have revolved around President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda, with groups opposing the deportation efforts that have happened around the US. Trump and California Gov. Gavin Newsom have sparred over the deployment of military personnel against demonstrators in the area.

Drivers who are out late Friday night in Cincinnati will have to go around lane closures on Interstate-71 near downtown. The northbound lanes of the interstate will be fully closed, starting at Interstate-75 through the Lytle Tunnel. With that, the two right lanes of Fort Washington Way and the Second Street entrance ramp will also be closed. The closures are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Friday and are expected to last through 9 a.m. Saturday.
