The Kendal community will have the chance to come together to mark the anniversary of VE Day. Thursday May 8 will represent 80 years since the official end of World War II in Europe in the Eastern Front in 1945. As part of nationwide celebrations, Kendal Town Council has taken it upon itself to ensure that locals do not miss out on the occasion. Minchin, best known for presenting BBC Breakfast for two decades, will be at the Burn How Hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere on Saturday, May 3.
