The group, Singing Mamas, welcomes women of all ages and life stages and meets at the Pavilion in the Park, Victory Park, Lower Church Road, every Friday from 10am until 11.30am. The group sings fun and simple harmony songs and lullabies from around the world.

3 1/1 FOUR adventurers have taken a 160-mile journey along the Thames. The two couples, who make up the rowing team Through the Blue, started their journey on Friday, April 11 from Lechlade. They rowed 130 miles to London before swapping their oars for hiking boots to walk the final 34 miles to Gravesend. The four-day challenge is in support of Laureus – Sport for Good, a global charity that promotes access to sport for underprivileged youth.

2 1/1 A DOUBLE-decker cancer bus visited the Black Country to raise awareness of cancer signs and symptoms. The initiative, organised by the local NHS in partnership with the four local authorities in the Black Country, took place from Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11. The bus tour provided an opportunity for residents to engage with clinicians about how to check for cancer symptoms, available support services, and what to do if concerned.

A SURF therapy programme has been funded by an NHS charity. Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, has donated £4,000 to the Tonic Surf Therapy programme. This funding has enabled ten young people, who are receiving support from mental health services, to participate in the ten-session programme.

The latest event, which is for children aged six to 10, will take place on Saturday, April 26 from 10.30am until 12.30pm. It will focus on the Victorians and will include interactive workshops, plus craft activities and games. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
