The Scotts Bluff County attorney is facing a recall for an unusual reason — doing his job during proceedings for a jury trial earlier this month. Alan “AJ” Moore, of Gering, filed a recall petition seeking the removal of County Attorney Dave Eubanks on Monday, March 17, according to a copy of the petition obtained from the County Clerk’s Office.

Fresh off the successes of the openings of TJ Maxx, Ross, Five Below and a new store front for The Buckle, RockStep Capital intends on listing Uptown Scottsbluff for sale by summer. TJ Maxx opened to much fanfare on Sunday, March 16, with many shoppers saying they were pleased with the quality of the store. It is the latest offering to join Uptown Scottsbluff, which saw Five Below open in November and Ross Dress for Less. The Buckle, the longest tenant at the mall, opened a new, expanded store.

An elementary school girl’s tragic cries for help led to the Scottsbluff Police Department making changes at the department, all part of an effort to make signage more kid-friendly. Scottsbluff Police Chief Krisa Brass told the Star-Herald about the tragic incident that spurred a police officer’s idea to make signs directing children to the department’s after-hours emergency call box more understandable.

SCOTTSBLUFF — Searches for a Wyoming man missing since Saturday have been concluded and authorities advise that the operation has “turned to the investigative.”During a press conference Thursday, Gering Police Chief George Holthus reviewed the efforts by police and other authorities to locate Chance Englebert, 25. Englebert has been missing since Saturday, when he left the home of his wife’s grandparents after an argument. His wife, Baylee, last saw him walking in the 700 block of O Street area.
