Scottsbluff Police are investigating the death of a man who had been struck by a train early Friday morning. Sgt. Royce Massie released that the identity of the man is unknown as of Friday morning, however, he had been found, deceased at about 12:13 a.m. after Scottsbluff Police officers were called to the area of Second Avenue and Railway in response to a train vs. pedestrian collision. Massie said a lead on the man's identity is being investigated.

SIDNEY, Neb. — Cheyenne County authorities are investigating after a woman’s body was found Tuesday evening along the BNSF railroad tracks in Sidney. The Cheyenne County Attorney’s Office and Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office released that authorities had responded at about 8:03 p.m. to a report of a body floating in water in a drainage ditch next to a culvert at Seventh Avenue and Maple Street in Sidney.

The Gering City Band will resume a summer of concerts and rehearsals are scheduled to begin next week. In a press release, director Randy Raines said nearly 50 players participated in the bands final Concert in the Park during the 2024 season. It will be Raines' 28th year leading the band. Concerts will be held each Thursday, beginning June 5, at 7 p.m., held at the Western Nebraska Veterans Home.
