JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - Federal funding is helping efforts to repair local streets in Jackson. A $4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation will be used for the East Side Commercial Corridor Improvement Project, which will bring street construction to portions of E. Washington Avenue, S. Elm Avenue, and Page Avenue. E. Washington Avenue between Cooper Street and S. Elm Avenue will be fully reconstructed.

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A Saint Johns man was arrested for alleged child sex crimes. 32-year-old Alexander Lee Snyder is charged with aggravated possession and distribution of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime. According to Michigan State Police, Snyder was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home.

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A hit-and-run crash is under investigation in Lansing after a man was hit by a car early Tuesday morning. The crash happened just before 3 a.m. in the 2400 block of E. Jolly Road. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Lansing Police said the suspect hit the victim intentionally and drove off. No arrests have been made yet. GRATIOT COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - Deputies with the Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office found human remains in a cornfield near Alger Road north of M-46. A Farmer who was spraying the farm found the remains and called police Saturday just before 7:30 p.m. The Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office said the remains were identified as a woman who possibly walked away from the Alma Hospital on or around February 18. The body was taken to Genesee County for an autopsy and identification.
