Palestinian Territory – The UN must declare northern Gaza a disaster zone requiring immediate intervention and compel Israel to halt the genocide being carried out by its army through systematic and widespread mass and individual killings, deliberate starvation, mass forced displacement, and the complete destruction of the remaining essentials for life. The Western Alliance that supports the lethal attacks on helpless and innocent Palestinians are vile and deprived of their humanity. Every killing is a red line crossed. One killing amounts to a violation of human life that no army, however powerful, has the right to take. Israel has also built up its own defence industry with US help and now ranks as the ninth-largest arms exporter in the world, with a focus on advanced technological products rather than large-scale hardware.

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris won the debate. People being bombed in Gaza did not. The banner headline across the top of The New York Times home page—“Harris Puts Trump on Defensive in Fierce Debate”—was accurate enough. But despite the good news for people understandably eager for former President Donald Trump to be defeated, the Harris debate performance was a moral and political tragedy. In Gaza “now an estimated 40,000 Palestinians are dead,” an ABC News moderator said.
