LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - This typical summertime pattern is not going anywhere anytime soon, which means more chances for daily storms. Very little day-to-day change is expected with our forecast through this week and even into next week. This means highs again will reach the low/mid 90’s Wednesday with heat indices topping out over 100. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms will be possible again, so keep an eye on the sky.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Scattered showers and storms are expected to return to SWLA Tuesday with a few daily storms staying possible this week. Another chance for scattered afternoon and early evening storms will take place on Tuesday so we’ll need to keep an eye on the sky. Not everyone will receive a storm, but checking the radar will be a good idea for outdoor plans or work.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Daily showers and thunderstorms will become a bit more likely as we kick off the work week. With upper-level high pressure moving to our east, we’ll watch for a better chance for some daily showers and storms this week. This includes Monday, where scattered storms will be possible from the late morning into the afternoon. Outside of storms, hot weather is expected with highs again in the low 90’s and it will feel warmer.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Hot and humid weather will wrap up the weekend before rain chances increase again for the upcoming week. Highs again should reach the low 90’s Sunday with heat indices into the 100–105 degree range. It’s possible a couple more showers could try to pop up, but overall rain looks limited at least for one more day. Stay cool and hydrated when outside.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The big story through the weekend will continue to be the heat and with limited rain until next week. Be sure to stay hydrated and cool to the best of your ability this weekend. Highs in the low 90’s are expected Saturday with the heat index topping out around 105 degrees. And rain appears limited at best which means there will be little cooling relief that way.

Chances of seeing potentially hazardous winter weather have increased for SWLA, and thus a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for late Monday night into Tuesday. Exactly how much snow/ice we see is still tbd, but now is the time to get preps underway https://t.co/m1RAka396M

No tropical worries are in the forecast this weekend and for the foreseeable future! Instead we get to enjoy warm days this weekend as more clouds move in by Sunday. Rain chances stay very low aside from maybe a stray shower. https://t.co/Gsv4pGbPR0

We’re watching Potential Tropical Cyclone Six closely. First advisory from the NHC is out, and obviously it’s something we don’t like to see. But the spread in tracks and impacts remains large. Review your tropical plans and what supplies you may need. https://t.co/whijlS2bDp https://t.co/tcpx97OwWg
