LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Humidity is about to return to SWLA this week and eventually slightly higher rain chances. The break from the humidity is just about over as southerly winds will return. Despite this, models indicate we may not see much in the way of rain through Tuesday. With an increase in mugginess, a couple pop-up showers or a stray storm can’t be ruled out, but rain chances will stay around 10% for now.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Mainly quiet weather should continue into Sunday though we’ll watch for an isolated afternoon thunderstorm. With the lower humidity hanging on for one more day, Sunday is not looking like a bad one in SWLA. Highs again should reach the mid to upper 80’s with plenty of sunshine for outdoor plans. The one difference will be a slight chance for a couple of stray thunderstorms to develop with an upper-level disturbance moving nearby.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - With a weak front on the way, a pleasant start to the weekend is ahead even as temps remain warm. Temps may start in the upper 60’s north of I-10 before warming into the mid 80’s during the afternoon for most of the area. Fortunately the lower humidity will hold the heat index in check so enjoy the nice day!Southerly winds will slowly return as we head into Sunday with more warm weather.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - We’re tracking a weak front which may bring some showers and storms Friday but lower humidity for the weekend. Rain chances will stay in the forecast Friday as a weak cold front approaches SWLA. Scattered showers or storms will become possible from the late morning into the afternoon as the front gets closer and things heat up. Now not everyone will end up with rain and models indicate there may be plenty of breaks from showers and storms.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Ran chances will remain in the forecast for the next couple days, but drier weather may arrive in time for the weekend. Until then, we’ll have another shot to see some showers or storms Thursday. Now models suggest rain may not be as widespread as Wednesday, and the better chance of showers and storms may take place in the morning through early afternoon. So we’re not expecting a washout, but it will remain a good idea to keep the umbrella handy.

Chances of seeing potentially hazardous winter weather have increased for SWLA, and thus a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for late Monday night into Tuesday. Exactly how much snow/ice we see is still tbd, but now is the time to get preps underway https://t.co/m1RAka396M

No tropical worries are in the forecast this weekend and for the foreseeable future! Instead we get to enjoy warm days this weekend as more clouds move in by Sunday. Rain chances stay very low aside from maybe a stray shower. https://t.co/Gsv4pGbPR0

We’re watching Potential Tropical Cyclone Six closely. First advisory from the NHC is out, and obviously it’s something we don’t like to see. But the spread in tracks and impacts remains large. Review your tropical plans and what supplies you may need. https://t.co/whijlS2bDp https://t.co/tcpx97OwWg
