LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - More showers and storms are expected off and on through the weekend. The same pattern we have experienced all week is likely to continue through the weekend. This means showers and storms developing near SWLA as soon as the morning, then becoming more numerous as we head into the early afternoon. There should be breaks in the rain but having the rain gear handy will be a good idea through the mid afternoon at least.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Rain chances will be below normal for the rest of the week... Overall the weather will be warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and heat indices in the mid to upper 90s each day. Rain chances will be limited Wednesday through the weekend. By the weekend upper level high pressure will develop to our southwest and this should keep rain chances even lower.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Sumer is here and this week will bring little change to our daily weather pattern. Overall the weather will be warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and heat indices in the mid to upper 90s each day. Rain chances will be limited Tuesday with a slight increase possible beginning Wednesday. Although it is worth noting that models have been trending drier and if that continues the rain chance may have to drop further through the rest of this week.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) -A line of thunderstorms over Texas will move toward SWLA later Wednesday afternoon. There may also be additional storms that develop in the afternoon hours before that larger line reaches our area. Bottom-line showers and storms are likely this afternoon and there is a risk of severe weather too. Damaging winds and hail are the primary threats from the strongest storms, though the tornado risk is not zero.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) -A line of thunderstorms developed over Texas Monday night and raced east across SWLA early Tuesday morning. These storms brought winds of 50 to 60 mph to much of the area. The threat of severe weather will be gone before sunrise, but some light to moderate rainfall may linger well into the morning hours. So you may need the umbrella as you head out to work. Once the rain comes to an end this morning we will not likely see more rain this afternoon.
