Having blossomed from its origins as a student movement in the early 2000s, EXIT Festival’s 40+ stage programme and all-night ethos welcomed over 200,000 people from over 80 countries for 2024. To mark its 24th edition, the usual four-day extravaganza, based in the Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad, was stretched out to coincide with the birthday of the late Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla.

The Portuguese festival announced the first details of its programme today (18 April). Semibreve have shared the first round of names that will play its 14th edition to be held in Braga, Portugal between 24 and 27 of October. The first slew of names include Iceboy Violet & Nueen, Moritz von Oswald, PYUR, Nídia, Rrose and Ziúr as well as announcing a world premiere performance from Kevin Richard Martin, best known for his work as The Bug.

Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know. 19-year old Madrid based TRISTÁN has pop knowledge beyond his years and within his selections you can see the enigmatic array of influences that are responsible. Having recently (21 March) released his debut EP, simply titled, Music EP, TRISTÁN defies genres on the six-song record which goes from elements of reggaetón to ballads, pop to bolero and back again.

Tomorrow night (5 April) the multidisciplinary artist and DJ will play a headline slot for Better Days’ party. This weekend, Bitter Babe is set to make her debut in the city at central Bristol venue Strange Brew. The Columbian-born artist – who has put out music on TraTraTrax, Omnidisc and Club Romantico – will head up the night, bringing her signature Latin inspired, percussive club sounds to the club. She’ll also be joined by k means and Fliss Mayo who will play a back-to-back set.

Waking Life festival has completed it’s 2024 lineup with a number of new names announced including Ion Ludwig, Ulla & Jan Jelinek, Tobias., Chez Damier, upsammy, Eduardo de la Calle, pigbaby, Cosmo, Dana Kuehr, Dj Dustin, rea, Selecta Fontes, Strobocop, Telma & Lamaz, and more.
