Practical reasonsEach participant had individual reasons for working in a prison environment. Nevertheless, there was some overlap in their motivations. For some interviewees it was coincidence to find an employment in the prison, as the institution was in an understaffed condition. Previous experiences in prisons, whether as interns or as trainees, influenced participants by making them consider working in a prison environment.
